It is very interesting to compare Steve Jobs to Malala.
I think the most obvious difference in the way they give speech is in their order of speech. In other words, the order of speech explains the individuality of them. Their contents of speeches are exactly very alike, as you watch the videos. They speak the experiences when they approached the deaths. But there’s surely the difference between their orders, I think.
Steve Jobs says he will talk 3 topics at first of his speech. It makes people prepare to listen to his speech. And it can make audiences organize what he tries to tell easier. He is the one of the most famous inventor, as you know. He’s speaking in the graduation ceremony. Audiences don’t know what he will talk. So everyone is expecting something newer from his speech. That’s why he has to be smart on his speech. He is trying to make audiences rouse to challenge. On the other hand, Malala tells her gratitude to attendances at first of her speech. It also makes them prepare to listen, but it cannot make them organize easier. She doesn’t need to do it due to her situation of speech. She is in the place of United Nations, and everyone knows what kind of speech she will speak. They already know what she wants to tell. In this situation, she doesn’t have to supply new things. But she has to try to make people sympathize with her.
You know the order is very important when we give speeches. But exactly there is no theory to decide the order, I think. It’s your choice and the choice explain your originality. Thank you!!
